In the classic black comedy "Dr Strangelove", George C Scott's General 'Buck' Turgidson breaks out in cold sweat over the prospect of letting the Soviet Ambassador into the Pentagon's "War Room", even as WWIII looms near. The satire is obvious: A Government/Military love of secrecy that verges on irrational paranoia - What if the Russians see our big map!! (as if they didn't know already). We've seen a lot of this paranoia recently, in the form of Republican allegations that publishing the 'torture memos' has made us less safe. This isn't really far-removed from the suspicions of ol' Buck. It's barely worth debunking. But just in case..
