It was with relatively little fanfare the White House announced the new members of PCAST - The President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. To the extent it was noticed, trade rags tended to make note of the fact that Google and Microsoft were now represented. Generally, the news was quickly buried in the avalanche of Arlen Specter's defection to the Democrats the next day. I'd like to rectify that a bit, by presenting Ahmed Zewail - one of our new PCAST members, Nobel laureate, prominent Arab-American, and guy I've happened to meet once. (though I suppose that was more of an honor on my behalf..) So in the interest of education, I thought I'd share why this guy's smarter than the rest of us..
